Our weekly training for members was the Stop the Bleed Program (which we also offer to the public on occasion—stay tuned for information about our next session).

Rob Groesbach, one of our paramedics,  led the training which included client assessment, packing wounds, and applying tourniquets.  Members practiced and demonstrated competency in each area; certifications will be provided.  Associated equipment was given to new members.

Next week, 1/21/2025, our team will review the equipment on our trucks and where it's all stored.

Community Tip:

Stop the Bleed resources:

The number-1 cause of preventable death after injury is blood loss.  One of the easiest ways to save a life is to apply a tourniquet.  We've researched and found that the CAT Tourniquet is far and away the most reliable on the market.  They take up as much space as a pair of gloves!  Having one in your home and/or vehicle can easily save a life.  You never know when a chainsaw might get rowdy!

You can purchase them here:  (BFD doesn't receive any percentage from their purchase.).
